Possession
The simple possession, such as having it in a pocket, of a Class C drug can attract a prison sentence however it usually only in extreme circumstances that this is the case.
If found guilty of possession of a Class C drug a sentence of up to 2 years in prison or an unlimited fine, or both can be given.

Possession With Intent to Supply
Possession with intent to supply a Class C substance is a much more serious offence than a possession. The intent supply or the offering to supply a controlled drug usually means that the police have found a large quantity of drugs, more that what could be used for 'personal use'.
If found guilty of possession with intent to supply a Class C drug a sentence of up to 14 years in prison or an unlimited fine, or both can be given.

Manufacture / Production of Class C Drug
The production of a Class C drugs is taken as a serious offence. Any involvement in the process, such as allowing your premises to used (charged under section 8), can attract charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
This charge regularly attracts an additional charge of intent to supply since the production of drugs have been manufactured for that purpose.
If found guilty of producing Class C drugs a sentence of up to 14 years in prison or an unlimited fine, or both can be given.

Conspiracy to Import Class C Drugs
Seen as an integral part of the drugs chain, the importation and exportation of Class C drugs is taken extremely seriously by the courts. Drug trafficking can involve just one or two people or for large-scale operations it can involve many people and countries
The offence of importing or exporting Class C drugs is up to 14 years imprisonment or an unlimited fine, or both.
